A Thousand Motifs, in One Carpet
As if a thousand carpets reside within one.
One day, we set out to make the impossible, possible;
We aimed to weave a collection of motifs representing the culture and art of Iran With exquisite mastery in design, color, and weaving Into a dreamlike harmony, Transforming it into an unparalleled carpet: “A Thousand Motifs.”
From Persepolis, its busts and columns,
To the statues hidden in the darkrooms of history;
From mythical creatures, stylized “Khatai” and “Shah Abbasi” flowers,
To birds, animals, and imagined vases.
From the depths of silent waters, to the vastness of the galaxy and wandering stars—
The sky was the ceiling of our aspirations in design.
After countless designs and endless redesigns,
We arranged all these elements
In a fully integrated layout,
Using a combination of “Lachak” and “Toranj” styles, surrendering them to a dream-driven order.
Asymmetry allowed each element to freely find its place in the composition,
Creating a world where the only rule was freedom.
This carpet was created in two distinct versions:
One with 80 rows, taking five years to weave;
And another, a unique version, with 110 rows, woven continuously for seven years, in a different size.
Two renditions of a single dream
One more accessible, the other more ambitious
But both full of detail, passion, and devotion.
“A Thousand Motifs” became one of the most finely woven contemporary carpets of Iran;
An artwork into which we poured years of our lives with love and devotion.
A one-of-a-kind carpet, with over a thousand motifs, 110 colors,
And thousands of pure moments of living with art.
“A Thousand Motifs” is the largest project ever undertaken by Lahiji Carpet;
The essence of our collective dream,
Finally realized in warp and weft.
