The “Zel-ol-sultan” style emerged in the Iranian carpet during the reign of Zel-ol-sultan, the governor of Isfahan, in the Qajar dynasty. It was a time when carpet weaving was considered a prominent art in Isfahan. This style is characterized by repetitive vases in the background and the presence of birds.

In Lahiji carpets, we looked at this type of pattern in a different way and by creating a color difference in the background, we mixed the “lachak and toranj” style with the “Zel-ol-sultan” style.

This carpet belongs to the Lahiji’s private collection.
