Shamseh is a symbolic and abstract motif of the sun in Islamic art, often depicted as a rose or medallion with intricate decorations. It is widely used in various fields such as printed manuscripts, carpets, metalwork, and especially architecture, notably under domes. Shamseh can take various shapes, ranging from circles to stars. The name means “little sun.” We have woven the Shamseh in a way that it appears as if emerging from the heart of an ancient gate adorned with the Shamseh, presenting a fresh perspective while preserving this authentic art form.
